Pleating Services
Knife Pleating Sharp, uniform folds all turned in the same direction. A classic and versatile technique used in skirts, dresses, uniforms and ceremonial dress. Knife pleats can be made narrow or deep depending on the garment and fabric weight.
Box Pleating Two knife pleats folded toward each other to create a flat, structured panel on the surface. Common in tailored garments, kilts, upholstery and anywhere a clean, formal finish is required.
Sunray Pleating Pleats that fan outward from a central point in a radial pattern, creating a distinctive flared effect. Particularly popular in eveningwear, performance costumes and decorative textile work.
Accordion Pleating Alternating folds that expand and compress like a concertina, giving the fabric movement and flexibility. Used across fashion garments, lampshades and soft furnishings where stretch or volume is needed.
Graduated Pleating Pleats that vary in width or depth across the piece, typically narrowing toward the waistband and widening toward the hem. Used to create shape and volume with a polished, tailored result.
Shirring Multiple rows of gathered stitching that draw fabric into an elasticated, textured effect. Used in bodices, cuffs, waistbands and decorative panels across fashion and soft furnishings.
